The UNESCO World Poetry Day celebrates linguistic diversity and the importance of poetry. Since 2000, the Haus für Poesie and its partners have organized this central event in Germany. Reading from their works on stage this year will be: Berlin-based, Syrian-Palestinian poet Ramy Al-Asheq; Tehran-native Athena Farrokhzad, a current Artists-in-Berlin Program guest who is arriving from Stockholm; Hungarian poet Endre Kukorelly; German painter and poet Charlotte Warsens; and spoken word performer Michael Stauffer from Switzerland.
