BENEATH THE VISIBLE WAVES
27.11.2022 / 20:00 – 23:00
With Merche Blasco, Nicolas Collins
Quadrophonic Concerts
Merche Blasco curated a night at the daadgalerie presenting three performances: PareiDoliΛ is a composer-performer duo investigating the extremes of presence and absence. PareiDoliΛ is Marta Zapparoli and Liz Allbee, two Berlin-based experimental musicians. In this performance, the two will improvise between polarities of the macro- and microcosmic. Nicolas Collins was a fellow of the Artists-in-Berlin Program in 1996. An early adopter of microcomputers for live performance, Collins also makes use of homemade electronic circuitry and conventional acoustic instruments. Merche Blasco performs in an inter-material conversation among the trio of Merche Blasco, Lucie Vítková, and Anette in which human and non-human elements are in constant interflow. Lucie perceives the accordion as an extension of their body – sound, matter, and movement locked in a self-generating cybernetic loop. Merche built Anette, a 3D printer, as her interlocutor and companion in the performance space; in return, Anette printed thimble-microphones Merche wears on her fingers, which are performed through a quadraphonic system.
