Paul Sietsema was born 1968 in Los Angeles, California and lives and works in that city. He studied at the University of California in Berkeley and Los Angeles. Sietsema’s activity is dedicated to long-term projects in which all the details appear to be meticulously elaborated. So only a few works have as yet been created over the course of his career. From lectures and images, stories and their novel interpretations, Sietsema constructs new, wholly independent and unique structures of thought. His works, typically films, often make use of solarization to generate an effect of alienation. Interrelated contents are brought together in new ways to undermine the idea of linear progressions of time and narrative.
