Nira
Pereg

Nira Pereg is an associate professor of art at Shenkar College of Engineering, Design, and Art, Israel. Her work explores synergies of spirit and matter, theory and practice—revealing and questioning behavioral protocols in the liminal spaces between geopolitical, religious, ideological, and ethical realms. These “border zones” serve as platforms for her explorations of the social manifestations of power structures that influence our lives.

Pereg’s work is exhibited worldwide and represented in the collections of the Centre Pompidou, Paris; MoMA PS1, New York; the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC; Tate Modern, London; ZKM Karlsruhe, Germany; the Israel Museum, Jerusalem; Tel Aviv Museum of Art; the National Gallery of Canada, Ontario; Princeton University, Princeton, NJ.

Nira Pereg’s research fellowship at Humboldt University is taking place in August 2024 within the framework of the DAAD Arts and Media Program in partnership with Artis.
