Dolzhanskiy

Roman Dolzhanskiy is a theater critic, researcher, and journalist. In 1998, he co-founded the annual New European Festival NET in Moscow, which he co-directed until 2022. He was the artistic director of Territoria, the first multidisciplinary festival in Russia to unite theater, dance, cinema, contemporary art, and music with an educational program for young artists. He has also been the chief dramaturg of the Theatre of Nations, one of the most advanced theater institutions in Russia. Since 2022, he works in Europe as an independent dramaturg, curator, and critic. During his stay in Berlin, he is doing research at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz thanks to a DAAD Arts and Media fellowship.
