In Iannotta’s musical theater work, four vocalists, musicians, and dancers—trapped in the structures of a voluminous sculpture—simulate the contradictory conditions of an almost complete restriction of private (instinctive) needs, and inquire about the remaining options for action in conditions of absolute isolation. The situation is derived from the deep sea where two shrimps live isolated in a sponge.
