With Taqi Akhlaqi
Only a small collection of stories by Afghan author Taqi Akhlaqi, 2021 fellow, is available in German. Aus heiterem Himmel (2018), however, already gives an idea of the spectrum his writing covers. His texts tell of flight, exile, and raw violence, but always present these aspects from a point of view that shatters the pure shock effect and reveals a continent of reality unknown to us, and where such fates play out. Akhlaqi has been living in Berlin with his family since September 2021. On May 18 at the daadgalerie, Akhlaqi will speak with literary and film critic Verena Lueken about writing in exile and his encounters with Germany.
