Vova Vorotniov: ZASXID (the artist walk)

As last event of the public program of the exhibtion A Time in Pieces, the artist walk will connect the two venues of Between Bridges and daadgalerie.

Vova Vorotniov’s event focuses on his walking practices, namely the “Zasxid (За/Схід)”, 2017 project as well as related works. Vorotniov undertook a one-month, 1000km walk from the western part of Ukraine to the eastern region of Donbas, where the country had its frontline since 2014. The purpose of this journey was to deliver a piece of coal from one mining area to another. As a symbolic gesture, the artist proposes a trip from former East to West Berlin, crossing the former Berlin Wall, before presenting his practice.

A Time in Pieces is a collaboration between the Visual Culture Research Center, Between Bridges, and DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program.

The public program is curated together with Natalie Keppler, Serge Klymko and Viktor Neumann.
